Dalhousie’s Professional Practice Week
Each year Dalhousie University School of Architecture holds Professional Practice Week. This intensive week introduces the student to the entirety of what it takes to get a building built. Each year the theme of the week rotates through the Canadian Architectural Certification Board (CACB) Conditions for Accreditation. This year it’s Ethics and the Formation of Professional Judgment.
The week is a part of a mandatory course for all students and includes teaching modules on site visits, costing and building codes held on the first four afternoons. The remaining events are talks and discussions from exceptional practitioners. Each invited speaker talks about their work in a public lecture format.
