Here’s a recap of the first  BEAA | Talk NB

February 19th, 2019 saw the start of something new, and truly exciting for the Atlantic Canadian design community – the first BEAA Talk. BEAA Talks are series of round-table discussions held at the offices of Architects across the region and provide a platform for promoting equality within the profession through networking and leadership opportunities.

Our first BEAA Talk was hosted by emerging practitioner, and EXP Architect’s Design Architect, Melissa Wakefield, AANB, OAA. Attendee’s from across the region, and across professional disciplines within the arts and design community joined Melissa as she shared her experience transitioning from boutique architecture to a leadership position in corporate practice. Discussion and themes of the night included career discovery, creating value and design excellence in unexpected ways, and within challenging market sectors.

It was an outstanding start to our 2019 programming. Thank you to EXP Architects and Melissa for hosting, and special thanks to our attendees for their thoughtful discussion.
